Laser assisted in situkeratomileusis (LASIK) has become one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in the United States. This type of Laser Vision Correction has become popular due to its high level of effectiveness and excellent safety record. Nevertheless, LASIK is a surgical procedure and needs to be viewed as such. No amount of promotion or marketing can discount this fact.

At NEW YORK LASER EYE, we conform to the highest standards for performing refractive surgery or LASIK.

THE PROCEDURE
LASIK uses a microsurgical instrument (microkeratome) and a laser (excimer laser) to permanently reshape the cornea (the clear covering of the eye). One way to think of it is the laser etches your contact lens or glasses prescription right into your cornea, painlessly. The procedure is done in an outpatient laser center and typically takes about 15 minutes for both eyes.

To know if LASIK is right for you call our office to schedule a comprehensive LASIK evaluation. Dr. Raviv will evaluate your eyes and objectively assess your expectations.
